Description
The wide building appears smaller than it is due to an optic illusion the sprawling gabled tin roof creates. Large plexiglass display windows that go from hip level up to the roof let in a lot of natural light. Inside the post office, the lobby is the P.O. Box room so the walls are lined with brass doors of various sizes, all numbered accordingly. The lobby opens up to the south into a rather small eight by eight room. Hip height metal rails are fitted with more plexiglass in a maze pattern for the waiting queue. At the start of the queue, there is a small area along the windows where a counter filled with slips and chained up pens to use is. At the finish is another counter where the postal clerks do their business. Three little open spaces to denote where a customer should step up to. The sorting machine lends a constant mechanical hum as background noise. Mythic Valley Post Office lives on with the motto:
Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.
Down a narrow hallway that looks off limits to non-employees there's a stairwell that ends in a door. This door opens only to those with the knowledge of the magical world. Beyond the door is a cramped room filled with perches for the Magical Post's owls, ravens and crows. There is also a counter with purchasable other forms of messaging like howlers and enchanted paper that when folded into planes will carry the message to their intended recipient.

Davis Allen Postman Davis is a fifth generation Postman. Rumor has it that a member of the Pony Express got stranded in the Valley when his horse died and no one had a horse to spare. Several generations of postmen later and Davis is a known face all over town. |
