Descriptions
Exterior
Set on a grassy lawn the Walker middle school is a tan building with a curved roof. A big blue 'W' is painted on the building's front. Large windows are placed on either side of the front of the building and reach from where they meet the rooftop all the way to the ground. Several small shrubs line the building as well giving the well-kept lawn a bit of extra green. A grey concrete walkway leads up to the school doors which are shielded from the elements by the arched roof.
Interior
The hallways of the middle school stretch the length of the building with signs proclaiming the exits. Wide and open the main part of the hall gives plenty of space for students and teachers to walk and also provide a space for student lockers off to either side. The smaller hallways cross the main hall and lead towards the classrooms, offices and various other places. There are several classrooms for teaching classes for grades six through eight. Aside from classrooms and offices for a school nurse and principal, there is also a decent sized cafeteria located in a central position in the school.
Classroom 1
Three large whiteboards are nailed to the north wall. A squared-up semi-circle of desks makes a small U and a larger U on the outside so that the teacher can use the empty space to stroll while lecturing and to be more interactive with the students at their desks. The west wall is almost floor to ceiling windows that let in a ton of natural light. The exit is in the southeast corner giving ample space on the south and east wall for displays put together by the teacher. Often showcasing some highlights in student's work.
Classroom 2
A classically arranged classroom, four columns and twelve rows of chairs with built-in smaller sized desks onto them fill up the class. The desks are a bit on the old and well-worn side, all wood, and grey painted steel tubing fixtures. Blackboards fill up the north wall where there is a couple of podiums for the teacher and another speaker to use. The east wall is almost floor to ceiling windows that let in a ton of natural light. The exit is in the southwest corner giving ample space on the south and west wall for displays put together by the teacher. Often showcasing some highlights in student's work.
ACCEL Classroom
Magic deters more than most anyone that is not of the magical folk to have less than zero interest in this classroom. Those that do manage to muster up some curiosity without the magic gene will simply find a normal classroom. A teacher in the ACCEL program is always available to help the ACCEL students study, get to the secret classes below and to most importantly make sure to veer off any curiosity about the program by anyone, not in it (who is not magical).
A large supply closet is out of the line of sight and will not open for anyone without the gene. Inside the closet behind some coats is a tight and narrow stone stairwell. For those unable to easily walk down the stairs on their own, the stairs will entirely spin, with a tug of a lever, so the top landing is soon enough at the bottom.
