Descriptions

Exterior

This beautiful building has a brown exterior with a gray overhang along the entire exterior. Large windows are evenly spaced along the exterior, signs in the window proclaiming various products available inside. In between the windows are flower pots filled with beautifully colored flowers of all varieties. A sign above the grey overhang reads, "Nihon Gardens Sushi & Teahouse" in both English letters, and Japanese kanji.

Interior

Inside the restaurant is completely different than the outside belies. A hostess in full geisha makeup is there to greet the guests and show them to their tables. There are only a few tables and four booths in the entire restaurant, and private booths are available for those willing to pay a little more. The booths are small and cozy, giving the right amount of privacy and the open tables allow for a more open feeling to be around others and enjoy the Japanese cuisine. The private rooms contain a central table with pillows for seats surrounding it. Each private room has a biwa musician and private geisha hostesses who will present the traditional tea ceremony alongside a pre-arranged dinner. The restaurant is decorated in traditional Japanese style including sliding Shoji doors, and tatami mats. Beautiful lotus flowers and sakura in classic ceramic vases stand alongside beautiful art depicting ancient Japan.

Menu

Complimentary Miso Soup and Cucumber Salad with every entree order. Nori (Roasted seaweed paper) can be replaced with soy paper or thinly slice cucumber. Customization and Substitutions welcomed! Nihon Gardens Restaurant specializes in traditional Edo Style Cuisine. Many American sushi favorites (like the California Roll) might not be found on the menu. Though some have made it through because the owner just plain likes them!
